Cold brew Lavender Earl Grey has a smooth and sweet flavor free from any bitterness. If you’re looking for a low calorie drink this summer definitely give this Iced Lavender Latte a try!
Cold brewing tea extracts a different chemical balance from the tea than hot water. The result is a reduction in catechins and caffeine ie less bitterness.

During the winter I drink tea by the flaskful. As I mentioned in this post I am a real tea lover. During the summer I continue drinking tea but I generally switch to iced teas.
I have been obsessed with my Lavender Earl Grey Tea Latte so I decided to make a cold brew version and enjoy my favorite tea as a lavender iced tea during the summer.
I have to say it’s just as good or even better.
How to make cold brew Earl Grey
The Ingredients

The Method
For Cold Brew Tea

The next day enjoy as is …

Or turn your cold brew tea into an Iced Lavender Earl Grey Latte
Froth milk – add cold milk, vanilla extract and a dash of honey to a glass jar. Use a hand held brother to froth. Add ice to a tall clean glass jar, pour in cold brew earl grey and milk for an iced lavender latte!
How long to cold brew tea
The longer you cold brew the more intense the color and flavor of the tea. I cold brew my Earl Grey overnight but even after 6 hours of cold brewing the flavor is great!
Tales of a Cold Brew Convert …
In the past I would brew a hot jug of tea then place it in the fridge to cool down but somehow that method produced a tea with a slightly bitter aftertaste.I don’t remember where I first read about the advantages of cold brewed tea, I have a hunch it was on Pinterest, but cold brewing has changed the game.
Since trying cold brewed tea for the first time I have not looked back. Cold brewed tea has a smooth and sweet flavor free from any bitterness.
How about a Lavender Earl Grey Scone to go along with your cold brew 🙂
